May it be a blessing to you in some way…As you may recall, this project is full of songs composed at the beginning of my relationship with Jesus of Nazareth over 50 years ago, so they are a bit ‘retro’ or dated in that sense, but hopefully preserving that joy of new believers that we all know and recognize, and hopefully have not lost sight of. Please enjoy! Here is my online explanation of the song:
💕 This is a song I wrote in those ‘Honeymoon years’ as a new believer, after receiving a letter from my best friend — almost my only true friend at that time. I had just recently had my encounter with Jesus of Nazareth, which changed my life forever and put me on the path I continue on until today.
This friend had watched me in my restless search for love, truth, peace, and true happiness, and was the first person on earth I wanted to share my newfound joy with when I found it at last. It was also my invitation for him to come join me in my mission to share Jesus’ love and message with the world.
Although we never worked or lived together again, he went on to become a pastor and render his life and service to God where he was, and I the same. His conversion in our youth was a point of anguish for me (I felt betrayed), and my conversion against all odds a few years later was a reason to write him about and rejoice together.
